Windsor police have charged a 41-year-old man with failing to stop resulting in death after the woman injured in a hit-and-run crash died.
Police were called to Tecumseh Road East at Kildare Road just after 11 a.m. on Jan. 18 for a hit and run involving an elderly woman.
The 72-year-old female pedestrian suffered critical injuries in the crash, and passed away in hospital on Saturday.
Police had been seeking a black Ford F-150 in connection with the collision, when a man turned himself in two days after the crash.
At that point, 41-year-old Matthew Pilon of Windsor was charged with failing to stop causing bodily harm.
As a result of the woman's death, that charge has been upgraded to failing to stop causing death.
Police continue to ask that anyone with information on the collision or the events leading up to it contact them at 519-255-6700 Ext. 4211 or Crime Stoppers at 519-258-8477.
