Imagine paying for parking without the hassle of coins or credit cards.

That's now reality for students who park at the University of Windsor, thanks to a free app that just launched on campus.

Pay by phone is becoming increasingly popular in large cities like Toronto, Vancouver, and Detroit.

The first company to hit the Windsor market is Honk Mobile.

Laurie Butler Grondin, manager of parking services, is thrilled to introduce the technology to students.

"You download the app, you put in your credit card info and your car info and when you get the parking lot your GPS will automatically find where you are located," says Grondin.

Kacey Siskind of Honk Mobile says you then click on the location where you wish to park and it will show you how long you can park for and the rates per hour.

Students can use the app at nine pay and display parking lots on campus.
