Investigators with the Ontario Fire Marshal, Windsor police and Windsor fire are all looking into an apartment fire on Wyandotte Street.

Damage is estimated at $300,000.

The fire took place at 1264 Wyandotte St E on Saturday.  The street was closed between Pierre and Hall avenues while crews battled the blaze.

Crews arrived and found smoke billowing from the second floor of the eight-unit building.

Fire officials say the blaze was contained to one unit and crews managed to extinguish the fire within minutes.

No one was home at the time, but officials say firefighters managed to rescue several cats from the building.

Officials say it was a bedroom fire on the second floor of the building. Tenants from seven units were displaced.
