One man has been arrested, four others are being sought after a man was allegedly beaten with pipes.
According to police, officers were called to Windsor Regional Hospital’s Ouellette Campus Tuesday afternoon, by staff, for a male who had been “severely assaulted”.
Upon speaking with the 30-year-old victim, police says the man took a cab from the 1000 block of Pelissier Street to a location in the 1200 block of Drouillard Road with a female companion.
The victim told police he was seated on a couch, when a male he knew and four others exited a bedroom and proceeded to beat him. The victim continued to tell police that two of the men used pipes, striking him several times in the head and knees.
Police say the victim eventually made it out the residence, when he was picked up by an unknown construction worker and driven home. A friend later found the victim at his residence and called 911.
Officers report the victim suffered serious injuries to his head and swelling to his left knee. His injuries have been labelled as serious, but non-life threatening.
Through their investigation, police says they attended a motel in the 2400 block of Division Road, where the known suspect was arrested.
Officers later executed a search warrant at the residence on Drouillard early Wednesday morning, where evidence pertaining to the assault was seized, however no weapons were discovered.
Police say a 31-year-old Windsor man is charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of marijuana.
Windsor police are seeking four other suspects at this time, but little information is known regarding their descriptions.
