Windsor police are looking for help after several purse-snatching attempts on Tecumseh Road this week.

The first report was on Monday at 10 p.m. A 79-year-old woman was putting groceries in her car in the parking lot at Parkway Mall at 7201 Tecumseh Rd East. Police say a man approached her, asked if he could take her cart, but then suddenly grabbed her purse from the cart and fled Eastbound.

He was last seen throwing the purse over a fence and then jumping over to the Charlie Brooks area.

The suspect is described as a white male, 18-19 years old, with a pale face and a slim build. He was about 5'6" tall and was wearing a green coat.

The second incident was on Wednesday at 10 p.m. in a parking lot at 3663 Tecumseh Rd E. A 57-year-old woman was putting groceries in her car when she heard footsteps approaching her. Police say she saw a male reach into her shopping cart, trying to grab her purse.

The victim grabbed the purse at the same time, the straps broke and the male ran away empty handed. She saw him join a second male on a bicycle and they left the area.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'2" to 5'4", about 100 pounds with a slender build and collar- length dark hair. He was clean-shaven and was wearing a beige hoody and faded blue jeans. The second suspect on the bicycle was a white male, 5'5" and about 130 pounds with a slender build. He was wearing a black and white checkered hoody and dark pants.

The third occurrence was Wednesday at 10:45 p.m. in the parking lot in the 7100 block of Tecumseh Rd E. Police say a 57-year-old victim was walking in the parking lot approaching the entrance to the store when a male on a bicycle attempted to steal her purse.

The victim was knocked to the ground and sustained injuries to her left knee and right hand. She was taken to hospital by ambulance for an assessment. The Suspect left on his bicycle empty handed.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 15-16 years old with a slender build. He had dark hair and was wearing a winter toque and a plaid jacket.
