A Windsor cake maker is taking to social media to vent her frustration about repeated vandalism in Olde Riverside.

“Just, ‘here we go again, of course,’” says Saskia Scott, the owner of Sweet Revenge Bake Shop. “It's just so routine and mundane at this point, I'm not surprised.”

Scott says her business has been a repeat target of petty thieves, with the latest incident coming at 3 a.m. on Tuesday.

She posted a picture of the damaged front door to her business on Facebook attached with a message that also highlighted how security cameras haven’t been able to pinpoint the culprits.

“We could post a picture of the blurry hooded figure from our camera footage, but that’s not going to stop it from happening again,” wrote Scott.

Scott says improved security after repeated attempts prevented the culprit from getting inside for the first time.

While the vandalism has been disappointing, Scott tells CTV News the community has stepped up its support following the latest incident.

“Just outstanding, absolutely outstanding — the support has been overwhelming. It really does restore that faith in humanity you know, it's not so bad and things are going to be okay,” says Scott.

Scott hasn’t soured on the Olde Riverside area, but hopes the situation her business is facing will encourage some type of action to prevent further property vandalism.

In previous years, the bake shop has seen cash taken along with innocuous items like plastic forks and boxes.

The business doesn’t carry any cash any longer.
