Windsor police say officers used a Taser to nab a suspect who allegedly robbed a man at knifepoint.

Police were called to a residence at Windsor Avenue and Giles Boulevard on Tuesday at 8 a.m. for a robbery that just occurred. 

Officers arrived and spoke to the victim, who said that he was robbed at knifepoint by a male who was known to him. 

Investigation revealed that the suspect entered the residence and began arguing with the complainant. 

Police say the suspect then held a knife to the complainant and demanded some of his personal property. 

After obtaining these items the suspect allegedly knocked the complainant to the ground and took his phone.  

Officers located the suspect talking to another complainant in the area of Park Street West and Bruce Avenue and the suspect fled the area. 

Police engaged in a foot pursuit and stopped the suspect in a nearby parking lot.  They utilized a Taser and were able to place the suspect under arrest without further incident.

Investigation also revealed that the suspect had conditions not to associate with either of the complainants.

Bechir Khamassi, 28, from Windsor is charged with robbery with a weapon, three counts of breach of probation and three counts of breach of recognizance.
