New international bridge expected to be named Thursday

The name for the new bridge being built between Windsor and Detroit is expected to be revealed on Thursday.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper is in Windsor Wednesday for a business roundtable, with more media events planned for Thursday.

Sources tell CTV Windsor one of the reasons Harper is here is for the naming of the bridge.

Transport Minister Lisa Raitt and Michigan Governor Rick Snyder will also be at the announcement.

Construction hasn’t started on the bridge, which is expected to cost about $2 billion. It is scheduled to be complete in 2020.
