A first-degree murder charge has been laid against the woman, who allegedly ran over two men with a vehicle early Saturday morning.

Windsor police upgraded the charge against Deanna Gamblin on Friday afternoon, after one of the male victims died of his injuries in hospital.

On Saturday around 3 a.m., police say an altercation broke out between a man and Gamblin near Wyandotte Street and Ouellette Avenue. After the altercation ended, the man left the scene on foot with a friend.

Investigators claim Gamblin then struck the men with a car in a parking lot at Wyandotte Street West and Pelissier Street.

One man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was released from hospital – the other suffered severe head trauma.

The 24-year-old woman is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
