Another day of long back-ups for northbound truck traffic in Windsor heading towards the Ambassador Bridge.
Traffic was backed up along Huron Church Road for a third straight day, at times all the way past E.C. Row on Thursday. That is something local residents have not seen in years.
Officials at the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency say they are experiencing system issues, and it's doing everything it can to minimize impact on commercial travellers.
Officials did not blame the problem on the partial U.S. government shutdown, now in day 27.
Canada-bound traffic was unaffected.
Windsor police officers were stopping transport drivers using the far right lane, which is designated for local traffic.
Some drivers report being stuck in traffic for a number of hours.
"Right when I got off the 401, it was like boom hit with all this stuff, 10 minutes on the 401 just sitting there,” said Taylyn Paquette Thursday during the noon hour. “Then it was slowly moving, now we're just not even moving."
