The Windsor Spitfires are asking fans attending Thursday night's game to bring bottled water of any size to donate in support of the city of Flint, Michigan.

Residents in Flint are in the midst of a water crisis because of high levels of lead that were discovered in the town's water source, after switching off from Detroit.

The Spits plan to deliver the water when they complete a home and home series with the Firebirds Saturday night.

"It's a great way to give back and help our partners down the road,” says Spitfires GM Warren Rychel.

Spitfires management says bottles can be dropped off at several locations at the WFCU Centre along with their retail outlets across town.
