Windsor police have arrested an alleged cocaine dealer and seized a quantity of drugs after an investigation by the drugs and guns unit.

Officers were active in a drug trafficking investigation in Windsor, which centred around a male suspect who was allegedly dealing cocaine. 

At approximately 4 p.m., DIGS officers  found the man standing beside his vehicle in a parking lot located in the east end of Windsor. 

Police quickly apprehended the suspect and he was placed under arrest.  Officers searched him and seized $595 in cash and a cellular phone.

Officers subsequently executed a search warrant at an east end residence and seized 55.2 grams of cocaine worth $5,520.    

 A 39-year-old man from Windsor is charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.  He was released on a promise to appear with a future court date.
