The Ministry of Natural Resources is investigating after a large school of fish washed up along the banks of the Belle River.

Hundreds of small dead fish have washed up at an area marina.

One resident says she has lived in the area for 40 years and has never seen anything like it and has been watching fish surface gasping for air.

The Ministry meantime says this type of thing isn't uncommon, and that they are aware of the problem and are investigating..

They are taking water samples, but the cause of the fish die-off is not immediately known.
