The intersection of Manning Road and Riverside Drive will be closed for about two months for phase one of the Manning Road improvement project.
Construction is scheduled to begin April 15 and wrap up in early June. Riverside Drive from Grace Road easterly to Christy Lane and Manning Road at Riverside Drive will be closed to pedestrians and vehicular through traffic. Access will only be maintained for local traffic.
The town is asking motorists to follow detour signs. Local traffic is asked to follow construction flag personnel and use caution when travelling through the construction zone.
The Tecumseh Transit bus route will also be temporarily adjusted to accommodate the road closure.
The first phase of Manning Road improvements includes the reconstruction of Riverside Drive and a new concrete roundabout at the intersection.
A new pump station and storm sewers will also be installed, along with water mains, street lighting, restoration and landscaping.
