A man who pleaded guilty to arson after a massive industrial fire in 2014 has been sentenced.

Cody Scammell-Turley pleaded guilty to arson in relation to the fire at the Wickes Windsor Bumper Manufacturing Plant back in 2014.

Scammell-Turley was sentenced Thursday to five months in jail followed by two years of probation.

The fire at the plant caused $1-million in damages and took fire crews 12 hours to extinguish.

Scammell-Turley appeared in court Thursday and expressed remorse for his actions saying “I’m terribly sorry for what happened.”

The defence asked for a 3 month sentence in jail while the crown was pushing for 9-12 months following by probation and restitution.
