Provincial police had a busy long-weekend on area roadways, charging half a dozen people with alcohol related driving offences.

On Friday, OPP responded to a crash at the intersection of Essex County Road 46 and Essex County Road 19 in Tecumseh. Police say one of the drivers left the scene, but was stopped a short time later.

Officers say the driver exhibited signs of impairment. Richard Doyscher, 55, of Windsor is charged with exceed 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content.

On Sunday, Leamington OPP was called to Bruce Avenue for a report of a vehicle striking a house.  Police say the driver exhibited signs of impairment. Scott Schmidt, 31, of Leamington is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceed 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content.

Four others were charged in separate incidents:

Mark Karch, 50, of Tecumseh is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceed 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content.

Michael Drake, 40, of Essex is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceed 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content.

Jacob Haeussler, 19, of Essex is charged with having care or control while impaired and having care or control-exceed 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content.

Alfred Kettle, 58, of Leamington is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and exceed 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content.

They will all appear before a court in August.
