A Lone Star Texas Grill franchise will be opening in Windsor.
Kathyrn Leroux, regional director of marketing at the Lone Star Group of Companies, confirmed the new location will be on Walker Road, likely opening sometime this winter.
She says it will be the chain’s 19th restaurant in Ontario.
Property developer Abe Taqtaq says the new building is going up in the 4100 block of Walker Road, just south of Division Road.
“We will be delivering the pad site to them in the beginning of September and they will likely be starting construction shortly after that,” says Taqtaq.
Leroux says the shareholders for the Windsor location will be Jack Cowin and Whit Tucker. Cowin is a Canadian/Australian businessman who owns Hungry Jack’s, the Burger King franchise in Australia. Tucker is a former CFL player, who played his whole football career with the Ottawa Roughriders.
The Tex-Mex style chain started in Canada in 1986. The company’s Facebook page says it is most known for its fajitas, ribs and mesquite-grilled steaks.
