Sarnia police have two men in custody as part of a fraud investigation but are trying to figure out who they are.

On Monday, police said two people went to a home on Franklin Avenue and told the female homeowner they were contractors, offering to clean the eavestrough.

A little while later, the men told the homeowner they had completed the work and tried to tell the woman her eavestrough needed some repairs — offering to do the work for an additional fee.

The homeowner said she realized the men had not done any work and phoned police.

Two men were arrested not far from the scene and police learned the same people allegedly committed similar offences in another jurisdiction.

So far, police have not been able to identify the men who produced ID from another country.
