A 41-year-old Leamington was charged with stunt driving after Chatham-Kent police say he was travelling 80 kilometres over the speed limit.
An officer saw the vehicle travelling on Talbot Trail near Dealtown around 11:30 p.m. on Monday.
The officer says it was recorded going 140km/hour in a posted 60km/hour zone.
A traffic stop was initiated and after a brief police chase, the driver abandoned the vehicle. He was arrested by officers walking down the roadway shortly after.
The Leamington man was charged with stunt driving, driving while under suspension, and failing to stop for police.
