The Essex County street crimes unit has arrested and charged two men after several break-ins in Leamington last week.

Police say the thefts took place at houses and vehicles on Garry Crescent, Roger Street, Nicholas Street, Noble Avenue, Brown Street, Westmoreland Avenue and Satinwood Crescent sometime between Sept. 15 and Sept. 16.

Several items were reported stolen, including an e-bike, loose change, identification, prescription drugs, portable electronic devices, GPS devices, sunglasses and bicycles.

Jonathan Grosse, 21, of Leamington, was charged with theft under $5,000 x 6, possession of stolen property under $5,000, failing to comply with undertaking x 2, breach of probation x 3, and break and enter x 4.

In a related incident, another Leamington man was charged after property from the above string of break-ins was found to be in his possession, say police.

Johnny Elias, 50, was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and assault with a weapon.
