LaSalle police have started an investigation after a van was set on fire in November.

Officers were called to 7275 Disputed Road for a van that was on fire on Nov. 9 at 1 a.m.

When officers arrived at the scene, they observed the van was fully engulfed in flames and due to its proximity, the house nearby had also caught fire.

Police say due to the quick response of the officers there was no loss of life and they were able to get everyone safely out of the house.

Emergency services also attended the location and were able to quickly put out the fire.

The house sustained damage estimated at $30,000.

Police say investigation has revealed that the fire was set intentionally.

Officers say witnesses saw a compact sedan in the area that had a loud muffler. Witnesses allegedly also saw two men wearing coveralls leaving the area when the fire was set.

LaSalle police are seeking the assistance from the public in order to identify the persons responsible for this arson.
