LaSalle police say a disturbing message referencing the shooting of Dallas police officers was spray painted at the Petite Cote Conservation Area.

Officers say the graffiti was spray painted with red paint on the bird tower at the end of the walkway. They received a report of the graffiti on Wednesday.

The message referenced the Dallas shootings as well as other instances where police officers had been killed, say LaSalle police.

It is apparently the second such incident involving graffiti at the same location. The first case was in May 2016. Police believe the incidents may be related.

It is being investigated as mischief under $5,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call LaSalle police at (519) 969-5210 or Crime Stoppers at (519)258-TIPS.
