It’s a feat that has only been accomplished once before, and with a win last night the University of Windsor women’s basketball team won their fourth-consecutive Bronze Baby.
The Lancers were the top seeded and tournament host going into Sunday’s ArcelorMittal Dofasco CIS women’s basketball championship game. The group would go on to defeat number two seed, Saint Mary’s Huskies 71-45 to earn their fourth-consecutive championship.
The win cements the team as one of the best female basketball groups in the tournaments history. The last time this feat was accomplished was back in 1979, when the Laurentian Lady Vees won the championship five years in a row.
The banner now sits high atop the St. Denis Centre.
