A well-established Windsor company is holding its first job fair.
Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd. is hosting a job fair on Thursday, July 30 to recruit employees in production operator roles.
The event will run from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Giovanni Caboto Club at 2175 Parent Avenue.
“As a major employer in the Windsor-Essex region, and a company where ambition thrives, we are pleased to offer these new career opportunities at our upcoming job fair,” said Angelo Demarco, director of human resources.
He says the company is looking to fill up to 20 positions, as employees retire over the next year.
Demarco says the production operator role is a hands-on production environment position that supports the bottling process through a thorough working knowledge of the bottling equipment.
Starting wage for the production operator position is $19.86 per hour, increasing to $30.55/hr over an eight-year period of time. Medical and dental benefits are provided, as well as a pension plan.
“Production operators are key roles within our highly automated production process,” says Demarco. “We are looking for motivated individuals with excellent mechanical aptitude, strong interpersonal skills and a continuous improvement mindset.”
