Chatham-Kent police are investigating after two Berry Street homes were broken into.

The first incident happened sometime between 12:45 p.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday. Police say a man entered an unlocked residence and stole a quantity of cash. When the homeowner returned, she witnessed the man running out the front door.

The suspect is described as standing 5’ 9”, and was seen wearing jeans, a light gray hooded sweater and a red winter hat.

The second break-in occurred sometime between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the same street. The homeowner reports that $150 worth of jewelry was taken. A witness says a young white male wearing blue jeans and a maroon stripped hooded sweatshirt left the residence around noon.
