The Acute Injuries Rehabilitation and Evaluation Centre in Windsor will be closing.

Windsor Regional Hospital CEO David Musyj says it will mean the loss of nine jobs, but he's hopeful those employees can be relocated elsewhere in the hospital.

“So we're hoping over the next five months that maybe with some internal retirements and resignations that these individuals will stay within the hospital,” says Musyj. “So we're going to do our best to accommodate them.”

Musyj says the need for the service just isn't there.

The centre is located at the Tayfour Campus on Prince Road. It deals with workers’ compensation and insurance companies for rehab work.
