Six Chatham residents were injured, including one critically, after a single-vehicle crash in Chatham early Sunday.

One man is facing numerous charges including impaired, dangerous driving and criminal negligence.

Police say there were only four seats in the small car. A 19-year-old male was ejected from the vehicle and was taken by air ambulance to the London Health Sciences Centre with life threatening injuries. He has had emergency surgery.

Another 19-year-old man has a broken arm and a 20-year-old  woman suffered a broken collar bone. The other three people were treated for minor injuries.

The crash happened at 2 a.m. on Michener Road near Valley Road.

Police say a Hyundai Genesis coupe was travelling south on Michener when it left the road, went onto the sidewalk, and sheared a street light and a green hydro box. It then flipped and stopped in the north lane of Michener.

Brandon Bertotti, 21 of  Lawson Crescent, has been charged with three counts each of impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing harm and criminal negligence causing harm, operating a vehicle without insurance and driving a vehicle not validated.
