Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath says she has concrete measures to help young people find jobs in Windsor and Essex County.

She addressed a crowd of about 30 people at the Unemployed Help Centre in Windsor on Tuesday.

She talked about the First Start on-the-job training program.

“We need young people earning paycheques, investing in the economy and building toward the future,” says Horwath. “I’ve put forward an achievable proposal that will help businesses that are ready to give young people their first start on the job.”

Horwath says she wants to close corporate tax loopholes.

“We want to work with companies in the Windsor area, and across the province, that are ready to put people to work,” says Horwath. “Instead of tax breaks for taking in a hockey game in Toronto, let’s help companies that are ready to put people to work.”
