Habitat for Humanity is celebrating the start of construction of their 60th house in Windsor-Essex since 1994, when the organization was formed.

Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens joined representatives from Walkers Industries at the groundbreaking ceremony Saturday.

Walkers presented a $50,000 sponsorship cheque that will help build the house on Meldrum Avenue.

The home will be sold to the Nippers family with a zero down payment and zero interest mortgage. The family has said it is a dream come true.

Construction on the raised ranch home is expected to begin this week.
