No surprise, the price of gasoline at some Windsor stations has taken a jump just before the Labour Day weekend.

The price for regular unleaded ranges from $1.14 to $1.33 a litre, depending on the station.

And if you thought gas prices were bad now, just wait until the weekend.

Former MP Dan McTeague, an analyst for GasBuddy, says some prices will go up another 9 cents a litre this weekend.

McTeague notes prices have jumped more than 20 cents in the last week in Canada.

McTeague says Canadian fuel prices are rising by more than those in the United States because the country is undersupplied with domestic fuel.

He adds it’s causing an overreaction to supply shortages from closed refineries on the U.S. Gulf Coast due to Hurricane Harvey.
