A candlelight vigil is being planned at the University of Windsor to honour the memory of Dr. Elana Fric-Shamji.
The doctor's body was discovered near a roadway in Vaughan .
Authorities believe she was murdered inside her Toronto home.
Her husband was charged with first degree murder on Dec. 2.
Fric-Shamji has family in Tecumseh and attended the University of Windsor.
Family friends who are organizing the vigil say it'll take place on campus at Memorial Hall starting at 6 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi. The visitation is Friday afternoon at Windsor Chapel on Banwell Road.
More than 50 doctors from around the province are expected to attend the service.
Non-perishable items will be welcomed and donated to Hiatus House.
