A former Windsor police officer has been sentenced to six months of probation after pleading guilty to drug possession.

David Bshouty, who now lives in London, made an appearance in a Windsor court on Monday morning.

Court heard that a bottle of oxycodone was found at David Suzuki school, the principal called and Const. Bshouty seized it.

Bshouty took the pills back to headquarters, but admits he failed to report them.

The pills were found six months later in his locker by an inspector after Bshouty had already been arrested in Detroit.

A separate matter, a single charge of trafficking, will be heard on Oct. 27.
