A 62-year-old former assistant Crown attorney from Windsor has been charged with soliciting prostitution.

West Region OPP and the OPP criminal investigation branch investigated an incident that happened on Sept.18, 2012 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

Police say they received information that the accused communicated with a prostitute for the purposes of obtaining sex while at the provincial court as an assistant Crown attorney.

Bruce Coates has been charged with one count of obtaining the sexual services of a prostitute.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 26.
