The identity of the victim has not been released.

Constable Andy Drouillard tells CTV News their initial report suggests excessive speed may have been a factor in the crash.

The intersection was closed for more than eight hours, and reopened early Tuesday afternoon.

This is the second fatal crash involving a motorcycle in Windsor-Essex in less than a week.

A motorcycle crashed into a telephone pole in Lakeshore last Thursday night and the driver was killed.

There was also a fatal motorcycle crash in Amherstburg last month.

Just in Windsor alone, Police say they investigate about 20 collisions involving motorcycles each year.

Authorities again urge motorists to be aware of their surroundings and drive according to the rule of the road, whether it be on two wheels or four.
