Municipal officials across Windsor-Essex are keeping an eye on water levels and wind speeds after a number of roads were flooded on the weekend.

Heritage Road in Kingsville has re-opened after a section of the road was closed due to overland flooding.

But the Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a flood warning for the Town of Kingsville. Officials say high water levels and wind speed could create similar flooding conditions.

Front Road in LaSalle was closed Sunday, and re-opened early Monday.

But officials in the town decided to close Front Road again from Martin Lane to Laurier Drive due to flooding. it re-opened again around 9:45 p.m. Monday.

Sections of Gil Maure Park also remain under water.

LaSalle's outdoor pool, boat ramp and Riverdance building also remain closed until Wednesday.

Fire Chief Dave Sutton is urging residents to be alert and use caution since flooding could happen at any time with a strong wind, until water levels drop in the Detroit River.

Overland flooding also forced road closures in parts of Amherstburg and Leamington on Sunday.

At Point Pelee, the waves crashed over the tip., forcing the closure of the marsh boardwalk.

In Windsor, the Detroit River spilled past the railing near the peace fountain but the park remains open.

Residents are being advised to use extra caution where flooding is occurring as well as rivers, streams, and shoreline areas.
