Erie Street restaurant fire being called ‘suspicious’

Windsor police arson investigators are looking into a “suspicious” fire at a restaurant on Erie Street.

The blaze started around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning at Masaya Cafe at 781 Erie St. E.

Fire officials say the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Six residential units behind the building were evacuated. No injuries were reported.

An investigator with the Ontario Fire Marshal was on scene Thursday afternoon.
