Windsor police arrest eight people and seize two guns after a raid on Wyandotte Street East.

The drug enforcement unit were granted a search warrant for a residence in the 600 block of Wyandotte Street East on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

Officers arrested four people inside the apartment.  Police seized 3.3 grams of cannabis marihuana ($33.00), .4 grams of crack cocaine ($40.00), 1 Percocet tablet ($5.00), 1/2 of a Morphine tablet.

The suspects located inside the apartment were all released on a promise to appear.

A 48-year-old Windsor man is charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of cannabis marijuana.

A 41-year-old Windsor man is charged with possession of crack cocaine and possession of oxycodone.

Two other Windsor men, a 52-year-old and a 30-year-old, are charged with possession of crack cocaine.

At about 8:10 p.m., a taxi with four males pulled out front of the apartment unit in the 600 block of Wyandotte Street East.

Upon observing police, one of the males fled the area on foot and officers pursued him.

During the foot pursuit, police say the male threw a black handgun in the 700 block of Tuscarora Avenue. 

The 18-year-old suspect was apprehended and placed under arrest.  The handgun was recovered and was determined to be a loaded 9mm Springfield Armouries XD.

Police also observed a loaded .357 Magnum Revolver on the ground by the passenger door of the cab.  The three remaining men from the cab were placed under arrest for unlawful possession of a firearm.
