Windsor police are looking for a vehicle and its driver after two people were injured in what they are calling an "assault with a weapon."

Officers were called to a hit and run involving pedestrians around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday at Wyandotte Street East and Goyeau Street.

On arrival, police say they found a small group of pedestrians helping a male who had blood on his arm and a second male with minor scrapes on his arm and leg.

The pedestrians reportedly told police they were northbound on Goyeau crossing Wyandotte on a green light, and that when they were halfway across they heard a car engine revving to the west of them on Wyandotte.

Police say one pedestrian told them they saw a vehicle eastbound on Wyandotte swerve into the westbound lanes, striking two of the group before speeding away.

As a result of the collision, a 20 year-old man was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries A second 20-year-old man was treated on scene by EMS for minor abrasions to his arm and leg.

The vehicle is described as a late model, grey or light blue four-door vehicle.
