Provincial police say a 58-year-old man has been charge with impaired driving after crashing his SUV into a farm wagon on Highway 3 on Wednesday.

Officers were called to Highway 3 between Walker Road and Essex County Road 34 near Maidstone around 1:45 p.m.

The driver of a white Jeep SUV that struck a farm tractor pulling three wagons with corn. The Jeep burst into flames, but the driver was able to make it out safely.

Joseph Nohra, 58, of Leamington, was arrested at the scene and will appear in a Windsor court on Nov. 30.

He’s charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, driving a motor vehicle over 80 milligrams and possession of cannabis.
