A 33-year-old Dresden man is facing impaired driving charges after a traffic violation, according to Chatham-Kent OPP.
An officer was on general patrol on Highway 40 when they observed a grey Chevrolet Impala committing a traffic violation on Sunday around 1:50 a.m.
Police say the vehicle was stopped and while speaking with the driver, the officer determined the driver had consumed alcohol. The driver was transported to the detachment for further tests.
As a result, Anthony Jackson, 33-year-old of Dresden has been charged with driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired and driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood.
The accused is required to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on July 21 to answer to the charges.
