Windsor police are crediting forensic evidence for helping nab a suspect after a home break-in.

Officers began an investigation at the home in the 1400 block of St. Luke Road on Nov. 3.

Police from the Forensic Identification Unit located DNA evidence within the residence and sent it to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for examination. 

Officers received a notification that a DNA hit was made and belonged to a suspect who resides in Windsor.

 On Saturday Dec. 17, at about 8:20 p.m., officers from the Emergency Service Unit found the male in the 1500 block of St. Luke and placed him under arrest without incident.

 Gerald Rockwood, 46, from Windsor is charged with break and enter.
