A discussion on the fate of the former International Playing Card Company Factory near downtown Windsor will have to wait for another night.
The property owners requested for the matter to be deferred until September to provide more time to speak with the prospective land buyer -- said to be a public sector entity.
Current owners say they are looking for a demolition permit. They say it's to make the lands suitable for future use of the land at 1123 Mercer St., though specific details aren't public.
But the city's heritage committee recommended full heritage designation for the building, which would save the 1920s facility from the wrecking ball.
It was placed on the heritage register back in 2008.
Council granted the deferral.
