The demolition of the smaller buildings on the site of the former Grace Hospital will begin the week of March 18.

City officials say the building with the carpentry shop and boiler room will likely be the first to come down, followed by the Brett Building at the corner of Oak and University.

The City’s contractor, Budget Disposal Incorporated, began removing designated substances from the inside last month, starting with the Brett Building at Oak and University. That work is almost complete.

The cleanup is on schedule, according to the city. Full demolition is expected to take about five months to complete.
