The Ministry of Labour says a manufacturing company has been fined $175,000 in the death of a worker in Windsor.

Canadian Electrocoating Ltd., a manufacturer in the automotive sector, pleaded guilty.

The fatality took place on Sept. 19, 2014 at the company's facility at 945 Prince Road in Windsor.

The MOL says some bins full of automotive parts fell on top the 55-year-old female worker.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to the fines, the court imposed a 25 per cent victim fine surcharge as required by the provincial offences act.
