An 18-year-old Chatham man has passed away after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bike.
The collision occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday on Bloomfield Road between Riverview Line and Richmond Street.
Police say a preliminary investigation determined that a GMC Acadia was travelling southbound on Bloomfield Road when the cyclist was struck.
The cyclist was taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Acadia, a 42-year-old woman from Tilbury, was not injured.
Police are continuing to investigate and have not said if any charges are expected.
