A Chatham police dog is credited with locating more than $7,000 worth of drugs, allegedly tossed by a suspect during a foot chase with authorities.
Officers say a passenger in a car fled a vehicle pulled over for a traffic stop around 8 PM on Wednesday.
The license plates on the Ford Taurus weren't registered to the car.
The suspect is said to have run behind several homes before being taken into custody.
The K9 named “Arry” tracked the route and located plastic bags containing cocaine and meth.
The police dog also discovered more drugs in the vehicle.
The driver and a passenger now face drug charges.
