A Chatham man pleaded guilty to manslaughter for the 1987 murder of his wife.
George Jarvis was charged with first degree murder a year ago.
Donna Jarvis, who was 22 years old at the time, was shot and killed on Indian Creek Road nearly 30 years ago.
The incident was investigated at the time, but police say there wasn't enough evidence to warrant laying any criminal charges.
The case was reopened in 2013.
Jarvis is scheduled to be back in court for sentencing on Sept. 29.
