The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a Chatham man in connection with an on-going child luring investigation.

Chatham’s internet child exploitation unit started an investigation in December, 2014. Police say a man was attempting to lure a 14-year-old Chatham-Kent girl through internet communications for a sexual purpose.

Officers intercepted the man as he arrived to meet the girl on Tuesday. A search warrant was executed at his residence and police seized a desktop computer and cellular phone for analysis.

Michael Harris, 55 years, of Queen Street in Chatham has been charged with luring. He has been released with conditions pending a future court date of March 31.
