A Chatham man, who allegedly cut up a woman’s shoes after an argument, has been arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Chatham-Kent police say the man became involved in a verbal argument with a female relative on Park Street in Chatham on June 28, 2014.

The man demanded money from the woman and when she denied his request, he threatened her while holding a pocket knife then cut up a pair of her shoes, say police.

He was arrested and charged with uttering threats, being in possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and mischief under $5000. He was released from custody with conditions pending a future court date.

Police say the man failed to attend court on Nov. 26 and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Officers found the man on Patteson Avenue in Chatham on Sunday morning. He was arrested on the outstanding warrant. He was released pending a future court date of Feb. 2, 2015.
