Chatham-Kent OPP officers say a tractor trailer didn’t stop after a 51-year-old Chatham woman drove into it during an apparent suicide attempt.

Police were called to the crash at Highway 40 near Fairview Line at 12:50 p.m. Monday.

A white Ford Escape travelling southbound on 40 Highway collided with a northbound tractor trailer, according to police.

Police believe the driver of the Ford Escape, the 51-year-old woman, deliberately drove into the tractor-trailer in an apparent suicide attempt. She has been apprehended under the Mental Health Act and taken to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

Police say the tractor trailer continued driving and did not stop.
